I am currently a student at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX studying Electrical Engineering Technology and plan on graduating in May of 2013. I recently graduated from South Plains College in Levelland, TX with my Associates in Sound Technology which is a studio recording degree with some emphasis on live sound reinforcement. I also worked on and completed my Operator in Music Certificate for Pro Tools HD8. In the future I am looking to pursue a career with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or in an audio or electrical related field.
I am currently employed as a part-time audio / visual technician for Freeman Audio / Visual Solutions. I also work in human resources at Franks International, an oilfield services company, as well as a maintenance assistant at Western Airways, a worldwide charter services company. I work all three of these on an as needed basis during my school breaks and they tend to rotate depending on the time of year as well how much work there is that they need done.
Whenever I can I try to expand my horizons and learn new things whenever I get the chance. Currently I am doing the audio for the Tuesday News at Noon broadcast for North Texas Television (NTTV). I also have been doing onsite audio recording and post production audio editing for a sitcom with NTTV called A Change in Degree. We have just finished up shooting and we should have the first episode airing in the next month or two. I also had the privilege to do the audio for a three hour election night special broadcast with NTTV.
In the past I have volunteered for many things. For the past three school years I was the lead audio / visual technician for the religious group that I belonged to. Also, this past school year I also volunteered for the Silent Wings Museum as a general museum volunteer and mainly helped to reorganize the collections as well as clean up and assemble some parts for a radial engine. I also maintain my membership as a committee member in my Boy Scout Troop that I helped start in 2000.
